Agreement, Eligibility, and Account Responsibilities
- By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using HashPhone, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
- You may use HashPhone only if you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement and are not prohibited from using the service under applicable law.
- You must provide accurate account, billing, and support information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs through your account and assigned HashPhone number.
Nature of the Service and Assigned Numbers
- HashPhone is designed to let users communicate without sharing a primary personal number in situations where additional privacy is preferred.
- Any phone number made available through HashPhone is assigned for use with the service. You do not acquire ownership rights in that number.
- We and our service providers may change, reclaim, suspend, replace, or reassign a number because of inactivity, subscription lapse, provider requirements, legal process, abuse concerns, or operational needs.
- HashPhone requires compatible hardware, software, and internet connectivity. Data, roaming, carrier, and other third-party charges may apply.
- HashPhone does not support 911 or other emergency calling through the service or any assigned HashPhone number. If you need emergency assistance, use your primary phone service or another service that supports emergency calling.
Your Communications and Legal Compliance
- You are solely responsible for the calls, texts, media, and other communications sent from your account or assigned number, including their content, recipients, and timing.
- CurrentBlack LLC and its telecom and platform providers enable transmission only. They do not author, initiate, or endorse your communications.
- You must comply with applicable laws, regulations, carrier requirements, and recipient-consent rules when you use HashPhone.
- You must stop contacting a recipient when required by law or when continued contact would be unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or harassing.
Prohibited Use
HashPhone is intended for normal personal communications between people. You may not use the service for any of the following:
- Business, commercial, or customer-facing messaging or calling.
- Marketing, promotions, lead generation, sales outreach, fundraising, recruiting campaigns, or similar commercial activity.
- Bulk, broadcast, list-based, or high-volume messaging.
- Automation, bots, scripts, autoresponders, traffic pumping, multi-account evasion, or any automated or repetitive workflow.
- Fraud, phishing, impersonation, scams, spam, harassment, threats, extortion, prostitution, drug sales, or other unlawful, deceptive, or abusive conduct.
- Using HashPhone to evade blocks, conceal identity for wrongdoing, or repeatedly create or access replacement accounts or numbers after restriction.
- Resale, sublicensing, renting, sharing, or making the service available to third parties as part of another product or workflow.
Monitoring, Risk Controls, and Enforcement
- To protect the service and preserve legitimate person-to-person use, we may use automated systems and internal review processes to evaluate risk and enforce these terms.
- Signals we may review include high-risk country, IP address, device characteristics, subscription ownership linkage, destination counts, sending volume, and message content submitted for transmission.
- We may delay, filter, block, limit, refuse, suspend, or terminate communications, purchases, activations, accounts, or assigned numbers if we suspect abuse, fraud, policy evasion, or activity inconsistent with the intended use of HashPhone.
- We may restrict future purchases, reactivations, or number access where prior misuse or attempted evasion is detected.
Fees, Subscriptions, and Cancellation
- Paid features are offered on a subscription basis unless otherwise stated in the app.
- Subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled. You are responsible for cancelling before the next renewal date if you do not want the next billing cycle to begin.
- If your subscription is purchased through an app marketplace or other billing provider, that provider may apply its own billing, cancellation, and refund procedures in addition to these terms.
- Except as required by law or by the rules of the billing channel through which you purchased, fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable.
- If payment fails, your subscription ends, or your account is suspended, access to paid features and any assigned number may be limited or discontinued.
Third-Party Providers and Service Limitations
- HashPhone depends on third-party platforms, telecom carriers, numbering providers, hosting vendors, anti-spam systems, and other service providers that we do not control.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, successful message delivery, call completion, caller ID display, number availability, or compatibility with every destination, region, device, or network.
- Third-party providers may block, filter, delay, or refuse traffic based on their own rules, coverage, technical limitations, or legal obligations.
Intellectual Property and License
- Subject to these terms, CurrentBlack LLC grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use HashPhone for your personal use.
- You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, resell, redistribute, or create derivative works from HashPhone except as permitted by applicable law.
- HashPhone, its software, branding, design, and related content remain the property of CurrentBlack LLC or its licensors.
Disclaimers, Liability Limits, and Indemnity
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, HashPhone is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, CurrentBlack LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from or related to HashPhone.
- You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CurrentBlack LLC and its affiliates, service providers, and personnel from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of your misuse of HashPhone, your communications, your content, or your violation of these terms or applicable law.
Changes, Suspension, and Termination
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time by posting a revised version on this page and updating the Last updated date. We may also suspend or terminate access to HashPhone at any time if we reasonably determine that continued access presents legal, fraud, abuse, safety, operational, or provider-related risk. The sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
